Klean Kanteen and Jack Johnson Partner on Sustainable Efforts for Summer 2017 Tour

CHICO, Calif. (June 6, 2017) – In a renewed collaboration with Klean Kanteen, singer-songwriter Jack Johnson’s 2017 North American Summer Tour continues to set the bar high for green touring practices and community education initiatives. With a shared goal of reducing single-use plastic and creating awareness around reusables, Jack Johnson is offering limited edition, co-branded Klean Kanteens to his concertgoers at tour venues and online at jackjohnsonmusic.com during his summer concert series nationwide.

In addition to offering Klean Kanteen stainless steel reusable vessels, Johnson’s 2017 Summer Tour has pledged to continue to reduce their environmental impact and pave the way in green touring practices. Tour vehicles will be fueled by sustainable biodiesel wherever possible, concertgoers will have access to free public transportation and bike valet options, waste reduction measures will be expanded and single-use plastics will not be available backstage. In addition, the tour will source food from local farms, offer eco-friendly merchandise, provide free water refill stations and invest in community-based carbon offset projects. The tour will also promote Jack Johnson’s new film, The Smog of the Sea, which makes an artful call to action around rethinking single-use plastics and promotes reusable pint programs as an alternative to disposable plastic cups.

Johnson will also be supporting 140 local non-profit community organizations throughout North America via direct and matching donations as part of his All At Once social action network. Net proceeds of Klean Kanteen sales during the tour will be donated to 1% for the Planet partner, Johnson Ohana Foundation, to support All At Once non-profit organizations driving programs that support sustainable local food systems and plastic free initiatives.
